Welcome to Australia's FIRST and ONLY website dedicated to promote and grow Bank Angling, Pole, Waggler, Feeder and Specimen fishing. These are all styles where the angler fish from the bank using a baited hook instead of an artificial lure. Species that are well suited for these styles of fishing and therefor targeted by anglers are Perch, Bream and Koi / Carp. The purpose of this website is to provide anglers with the necessary knowledge, equipment, bait and opportunities through our network of clubs to not only get involved but to truly excel and enjoy the sport. One of our goals is to create a healthy environment in which the sport can flourish, this will require more fishing friendly regulations and also more access to suitable venues.
The Government through the National Carp Control Plan (NCCP) are seriously considering a plan to deliberately release the Carp / Koi Herpes Virus in an attempt to control carp numbers. Instead if just complaining, we are working hard to promote our alternative plan known as C.A.R.P (Carp Australia Resource Project). The systematic reduction of carp in areas with excessive biomass and an increase of native fish (natural predators) will result in a more balanced and stable Eco system which will benefit all angling groups and other stakeholders. Most other countries make full use of the enormous social and economic benefits associated with this species and one of our goals is to make sure we reach as many Australians as possible with the alternative plan and very positive facts. Our goal is not only to prevent the release of the herpes virus but to make sure that our proposed initiative get implemented and managed on an ongoing basis to prevent a repeat of the situation we currently find ourselves in.
